Lead Warehouse Volunteer
Play a key role in ensuring that our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently. This vital position supports our mission by coordinating the flow of donated clothing and food, organizing inventory, and leading volunteer efforts to ensure every item is handled with care and purpose.

Warehouse Team Volunteer
Following the guidance of the Lead Volunteer – working as part of a team – this role helps coordinate the flow of donated clothing and in-kind goods, organize inventory, and support volunteer efforts.

Lead Gardening Volunteer
Lead the Gardening Team by planting and maintaining therapy garden and flower beds at our Emergency Receiving Center (ERC). In this role, the Lead will work with other Garden Team volunteers to help cultivate grounds that are well-cared for, welcoming, and therapeutic to residents and staff.

Gardening Team Volunteer
Following the guidance of the Lead Volunteer, this role helps maintain the therapy garden and flower beds at the Emergency Receiving Center (ERC). Work with other volunteer team members to keep the ground tidy and welcoming for all.

Flexible scheduling Monday thru Friday 9-5. Having one consistent day/time per week is preferred.

Furniture Assembly

Location: CCAHT Administrative Office (address will be given to assigned volunteer)

Time Commitment: Approximately 1-2 hours

Skill Level/Experience:  Experience with hand and/or power tools. Ability to follow detailed directions.

Painting at our Emergency Receiving Center

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces: This includes washing walls, repairing holes and cracks, sanding, priming, and sealing surfaces.
  • Protect surrounding areas: Covering trim, floors, furniture, and other surfaces with masking tape and drop cloths to prevent paint damage.
  • Maintain a clean workspace: Ensure that tools, equipment, and work areas are kept tidy and safe throughout the project.
  • Clean up: Dispose of waste properly and clean equipment after each session. 

Location: Emergency Receiving Center (confidential location – address will be given to assigned volunteers)

Time Commitment: Approximately 2-4 hours

*Comfortable with tasks such as lifting, bending, and working on ladders or scaffolding if necessary.

Unmasked 2025

Silent Auction Committee

  • Responsibilities:
    • Pre-Event: Item procurement – Contact businesses and individuals to solicit donations for the silent auction; Keep track of donated items and their values, ensuring accurate records; Create display signage and item descriptions
    • Event Night: Bidding Assistance – Monitoring the silent auction tables, answering questions, and encouraging participation; Bid Sheet Management – collecting bid sheet and ensuring accurate record-keeping; Check-out Assistance – Helping winners with payment and item pickup; Table Maintenance – Keeping auction tables organized and ensuring items are well-presented. 
    • Post-Event: Clean Up – Assisting with the breakdown of the auction display and overall event cleanup. 
  • Location: Pre-event work can be done remotely. Must be available on event day (October 24)
  • Time Commitment: Varied hours, June 2025 – October 2025
  • Skill Level/Experience: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with donors, guests, and other volunteers; Organization and attention to detail to manage inventory, track bids, and ensure smooth operations; Ability to work independently and as part of a team to handle assigned tasks and collaborate with others.

Event Set-Up

  • Location: The Mill & Mine, 227 W Depot Avenue, Knoxville, TN
  • Time Commitment: October 24, 2025, 9:30 am – 1:00 pm
  • Skill Level/Experience: 
    • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and lift potentially heavy items

Registration/Check-In

  • Responsibilities: Assisting with guest registration
  • Location: The Mill & Mine, 227 W Depot Avenue, Knoxville, TN
  • Time Commitment: October 24, 2025, 5:30 – 8:00 pm
  • Skill Level/Experience: 
    • Ability to operate computer and sit for an extended period of time
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment

All volunteers will complete 1.5 hours of Volunteer Orientation
