Mom. She’s a superhero. She’s a caretaker, a problem solver, a cheerleader. She’s the first teacher, she’s community, she is fierce.
43% of the survivors we have served at the CCAHT since last year’s Mother’s Day have been moms.
Women like Grace. Women like Zoe. Women who, in the face of unimaginable exploitation, conflict, and abuse, pick themselves up again and again to do anything it takes to provide for and care for their children. Women who, unlike many other mother’s we know, don’t have a support system. They don’t have a family. They don’t have a community, a village. They are on their own.
Until now.
Now, we have the power to show up for these incredible moms in a way that no one has done before. Together, we can all show them that they aren’t in it alone and that their story doesn’t have to be one of isolation, struggle, and abuse. We have the opportunity to show them the true heroes they are and to honor the incredible mothers they continue to be.
This year, help us make this the best Mother’s Day yet. When you give to the CCAHT in honor of your own mother, we will send her a handwritten Mother’s Day card telling her about the life-changing investment you’ve made in her name. Your donation to support the mothers we serve will fund their journey toward independence, self-sufficiency, and a future free of exploitation.
If you are giving in honor of a special mom in your life, please include her name, her relationship to you (mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, etc.), her address, and any other notes in the comments field, and we will send her a Mother’s Day card telling her about the incredible gift you made in her name.
