I was born in the small, country town of Bartow, FL and grew up in a large, closeknit family who
instilled in me strong values of family and faith. Twin siblings run in my family with my mother
being a fraternal twin and I have a twin sister who I consider my soulmate. I grew up believing
that football is apart of my religion and I was involved in my church and community from an
early age. I completed my undergraduate degree at University of Florida and graduated from the
Florida State University with my masters and doctorate degrees. As a sports fan, I am used to
crossing enemy lines and will continue to be the rogue player to assimilate to my surroundings.

As a millennial I have learned to value my time, my relationships, my faith, and my hope in a
better world. I do believe in helping those whom may not have the same privileges and power as
me yet acknowledging my blind spots in my power. I believe that team collaboration can get the
job done. I have a passion to empower others and utilize my platform to shed light on the true
experiences of my peers. I believe that in order to dismantle established systems, we have to first
acknowledge our biases and shortcomings before tackling networks of inequality. My drive to be
a change agent keeps me motivated to stay focused on impacting my community, even in a small
way.

I am a huge fan of self-care and knowing what works for you to relax. For me, I am a big TV and
movie watcher. I watch sports shows and games, entertainment/action movies, romcom and
romventure movies, romantic reality tv shows, and children’s/nostalgic television and movies. I
like to spend time in nature walking, jogging, or hiking. I find that being outdoors in nature or
near bodies of water helps to center me. I can be sociable to spend time with family and friends.
Also, I am an avid book reader who gravitates towards Christian romance and fiction. Also, I
like to take naps and rest when I have free time. Being in this field, I do my best to take care of
myself and see that the people around me are cared for.
